Activist Double Feature - Part I: CLIMATE CHANGE

  • EXCLUSIVELY ONLINE (map)

Join a movement of concerned citizens for water and the planet! In fact, we’re so serious about water and climate action, that we've added an additional screening following Little Yellow Boots that you won't want to miss and, as an added bonus, if you decide to take advantage of the Activist Double Feature, you'll SAVE $5 on the second screening. Why? Because we know that knowledge is power! The more we know and the more we come together, the more we can do to fight the current climate crisis!

In Part I of our double feature we will screen FLUVIUS, followed by our feature film Little Yellow Boots.

After the initial live-streamed event, your ticket will give you
access to the recording until Sunday, November 15, 2020.

FLUVIUS
Filmmaker: Pere Puigbert
SPAIN | 2019 | 12 min | North American Premiere

A poetic journey to the heart of a river on its flow towards the sea. The film travels along the Fluvia river, which rises in the north of Catalonia and merges into the Mediterranean Sea. The name fluvia comes from the Latin word Fluvius, which means "river" or "running water".

Little Yellow Boots
Filmmaker: John Webster
FINLAND | 2017 | 95 min | Canadian Premiere

How can one help one’s grandchild, or great-grandchild, fifty years from now? What do we pass on to those who come after us, for both good and for bad? And what difference can one person make in the world? These are the universal questions that drive LITTLE YELLOW BOOTS, a cinematic letter to filmmaker John Webster’s great-grandchild, a girl who will be born in the 2060s, and whose little yellow boots will walk on a very different shoreline to the one we knew. Drawing from Webster’s personal experience of loss, viewers are taken on an emotional and physical journey from Finland across Russia to the coal mines of Siberia, to the Marshall Islands in the Pacific, and across the U.S. to New York. The story seamlessly weaves together past, present and future into a beautiful, moving and hopeful documentary film about the power of each of us to make a difference.

Our screening will be followed by a discussion addressing the question we are all wondering about, "What can I do?”
